Our mission is to ensure the voices and experiences of practising pharmacists favourably shape health policy in Canada.

The Canadian Pharmacists’ Coalition for Responsible Policy was created by pharmacists who believe public policy works best when it reflects both the evidence and the realities of frontline healthcare.
Pharmacists live through the challenges in Canada’s health system, and see first-hand what works well and what doesn’t. As our role in the healthcare system continues to expand, that experience should be part of the conversation before decisions are made.
The Coalition supports policies that are:
evidence-based and grounded in good science;
practical and proportionate;
focused on patient safety and access;
attentive to unintended consequences;
supportive of pharmacists practising to the full extent of their education; and
designed to deliver measurable improvements in health outcomes.
We support innovation and an expanded role for pharmacists where it improves patient care. But new responsibilities must be matched with the time, resources, authority and support needed to deliver them properly. Pharmacists cannot continually absorb additional clinical and administrative demands without considering the impact on workload, pharmacy operations and patient care.
The Canadian Pharmacists’ Coalition for Responsible Policy advocates for policies that strengthen pharmacy practice, improve access to care, protect patients and reduce unnecessary burdens on frontline healthcare professionals.
Because good health policy should not only sound good on paper.
It should work in practice.
